We were blessed with having Brian as our neighbour for 25 years. From the first day, we were moving in a snowstorm, Brian was there with his gigantic tractor pulling a tractor-trailer out of the ditch and pulling it to our house. There are endless stories where he lived out Jesus’ commandment of “love your neighbour as yourself”. That is who he is, a man of integrity, love, and kindness. He will always be fondly remembered and missed dearly. Our deepest condolences to the family…

We are very saddened by the passing of Brian; please accept our truly heartfelt condolences for your loss and know that he was the one of the finest people we ever knew. Brian was a great example of what most of us strive to be; welcoming and passionate about his family and friends, always willing to help others, and was always regarded as a pillar in our community. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through their friends and family, they live on. Brian’s legacy will truly live on through his grandchildren and friends for generations to come.

Although we were not close to Brian, you couldn't help but run into him in our small farming community. Every time you met Brian he had a smile that would make you smile just seeing him and always had a light-hearted comment to make. He will be terribly missed within his family, his Bradford West Gwillimbury community and our farming community. RIP Brian, you've earned your rest.

Brian was an incredible man. His door was always open, whether at the house or the shop, and he would always welcome you with a smile and a handshake. Brian always went out of his way to help others and never expected anything in return. His shop was always a bustle of people coming and going whether for a quick visit, to borrow a tool, or just to get some advice on how to fix something. He had a heart of gold and shared it with many. It didn't matter where Brian went in the community, he always knew lots of people and was respected by all. He had a magnetic personality and loved to talk to anyone and would make new acquaintances everywhere he went. Brian was so much more than a farmer, he was a mechanic, an environmentalist, a politician, an engineer, a teacher, a mentor and the list goes on and on. He did it all. Brian loved life but most importantly he loved his family deeply. They always came first despite his busy schedule and he loved spending time with them and watching them grow up. I think this was one of the things he was most proud of. To say Brian will be missed by many is a great understatement. He affected so many lives and instilled great memories in so many people. Rest in peace my good friend. I miss you and will carry you in my heart forever and am so proud and fortunate to have been able to call you my friend. My condolences to his family, friends and all who came to know and love him the way so many did. He will live on in the memories of him we carry within us. Our prayers are with you, Rob and Shannon.

I am so sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I could not have asked for a better teacher and role model for my little brother, Alex. From before he could walk he looked up to Brian and I am so thankful that Brian was the one to mentor him and believe in him and his hard work. I can see that Brian has really shaped Alex's character as he's grown up since they worked together through some of his most important growing and learning years, and Alex has come out much better for it. Brian will be missed deeply by my whole family, and I know Brian's legacy will live on through Alex from all of the life lessons he taught and and good times they shared together. He had an incredible impact on Alex's life and therefore my own, and am very grateful for that. My thoughts are with Cathy and the family.

Words will not do justice, to describe the way in which you impacted our lives. Salt of the Earth, trusted friend and confidante, historian, who could flip from a smile to a serious topic on a dime, with concern and help for anything and anyone, especially if it required heavy equipment. A host with a porch light on till all hours, always welcoming your dearest and closest, of which there are so many. You changed our lives and added an immeasurable dimension of solid history about our home, that we have to reference always and cherish especially now that you are no longer here face to face. To look out every window in every direction, across the rolling fields that you tended with such great care and pride, we will always see you. We will think about the greatest of times shared together, the stories you told us, and the legacy that you leave behind for your loving family, friends, and your community. The gentlest of men with a solid steel character, and a heart of gold. You kept your promise to your Dad, to farm to the end of time. You will rest in peace. You lived well, and we are so grateful to have shared in your life. Clarence and I will forever and always hold you close in our hearts and miss you dearly. Sue & Clarence xo

That was such a big deal to both of us and we have never forgotten his generosity.
