Many summers growing up, I and my brother Rob would stay a week or two at the farm. Sandra and I did her farm tasks together. They may have been chores for her, but for me it was all fun. We put chickens to sleep by tucking their heads under their wings. Sandra would pour out the grain for the chickens, forming letters that spelled the name of boy she had a crush on, which was then spelled out in chickens. With a pack of dogs we would walk to the pasture and bring the cows back for milking. We brought pails of milk to the calves. We drove old cars out to the fields. We got in trouble for playing in the parlor. Sandra was always cheerful and chatty. And that stayed true over the years after we were grown up.

Sandra was a wonderful cousin. She was always totally “cool” to me! When I was young I remember spending a week at the farm and one night she transformed from regular work wear into glamorous date night clothes right in front of my eyes! She even painted my nails bright red! I thought that was amazing until Monday at school when my teacher gave me the stink eye. (It was totally worth it! I was 8 years old at the time and today no one would give it a second thought!).
So glad we had that time together and many other family get togethers over the years.
My deepest condolences to Wes, Scott and family.
Please know I will always hold memories of Sandra in my heart. (And yes, I still rock that red nail polish from time to time!)
Rest In Peace,
-Madelaine Rynard Allan

Our sincerest condolences to Wes, Scott and families. We share many fond memories with Sandra. Sandra had a lively spirit and was always quick to laugh, even with her health issues and the pain she often endured. She will be truly missed.

Some of my fondest memories as a child were visiting my Uncle Gordon's farm in Zephyr. The farm household was always active and we enjoyed helping out as best we could. Sandra, then in her teens, was always busy doing "chores" and we would follow her lead in doing whatever jobs were lined up - such things as feeding the chickens and returning the cows from pasture for milking. Later, inside for the evenings, dinners were large with plenty of family and Sandra always boisterous and funny. That generation and the farm too, are now gone, leaving us with only the fondest of memories. Rob Rynard
