Passed away peacefully at Bradford Valley Care Community on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in her 86th year. Beloved Mother of Ron (Linda), Gayle (Pat) and Kimberley. Proud Grandmother to Alanna (Matt), Mitch; Brett, Mitch, Cole; Pierce and Brock. Great Grandmother to Onyx and Shale. Dear sister to Jean (late Walt) Willemstein, late Rita (late Bill) Winter, late Elsie Nydam and Brother Bill (Flora) Nydam. Shirley will be dearly remembered for her kindness, caring as a loving Aunt by her nieces, nephews and their families. Cherished Daughter of late Charlie and late Brenda Nydam.

Shirley Ann was born in Windsor, Ontario and moved to the Holland Marsh as a very young child with her three Sisters.  She enjoyed country music, played guitar and piano, as well as being a very capable yoddler, entertaining many of us and strangers as well. As a teenager she liked working with her parents on their egg laying chicken farm in the Holland Marsh. She worked and became very knowledgeable of vegetable farming, seeding, planting and harvesting. She later took up a career as a “Homemaker” in Toronto helping persons in need and terminally ill. She loved travelling and visited her parents homeland, the Netherlands, as well as places in North America.

Special thanks to all the Nurses, PSWs and Caregivers at both Bloomington Cove and especially Bradford Valley Care Community.

A visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 12 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1 p.m. Note: Facial masks are required. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford.
