Obituary of Leonard Porter Jr.

Len peacefully passed away, surrounded by his daughters at home on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 68 years of age.

Loving Dad of Christine Porter (Kevin Maisine), Tammy Porter (Mitch Oliveira) and Sarah (Bill) Murray. Proud Papa Bear and Grandad of Brandon (Bailey), Emma; Jesse, Joey (Ashley), Kaylee; Lucas and Avery. Cherished great Papa Bear of Jax. Beloved son of Leonard Sr. and Shirley Porter. Dear brother of Shirley (Declan), Gary (Debbie) and Danny (Liz).

Len was one of the hardest workers you'll ever meet! He was a BIG storyteller who loved striking up conversations. He always kept busy with small engine work, woodworking, construction, chopping wood, gardening and he LOVED his scratch and win tickets and buying storage lockers. Len fought lung and brain cancer for the past 5 years, he was determined and strong! He lived and died on his terms, HIS way. We hope the fishing and thunderstorms are great up there. PS- Save some treats for the rest of us!

A memorial visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of a memorial service at 11 a.m.

In Len's memory, family and friends are encouraged to honour Len's love of fishing by bringing new fishing and tackle gear or a fishing retail store gift card to his visitation/service which will then be donated to two charities that graciously accept these items to allow families to enjoy a day out fishing, away from the busyness and struggles of everyday life. The chosen charities; Huronia Transitional Homes and ABC Fishing.
