Obituary of Geraldine Kennedy
It is with great sadness that the family of Geraldine Ann Kennedy announces her passing on October 3, 2022. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 56. Geraldine was a wonderful wife and best friend to Greg Pridham. A loving mother to Jason Kanthak (Sheena), Kyle Kanthak (Ariana) and stepmother to Ryan Howatt (Kathleen). Geraldine was the most amazing G-Ma to Jacob, Liam, Kaiden and Amiyah who absolutely adored her. Devoted daughter to the late Cyril Kennedy and Dianne Kennedy, stepdaughter to Mitch MacDonald. Daughter-in-law to the late Reg and Marie Pridham. She will be truly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Kennedy (Melanie), Paul Arsenault (Sandra), Cindy Pridham (Terry) and Marilyn Pridham, predeceased by Jan Pridham. Geraldine will never be forgotten by her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and the many friends she leaves behind. A special thank you to Marlene Noonan for being by Geraldine’s side throughout her life and during this difficult time.
Geraldine exceeds the definition of a fighter and puts a whole new meaning to the word strength. She fought for a long time, with a smile on her face, never giving up hope and always ready to try anything. Anyone who knew Geraldine would describe her as someone with a magnetic personality, a big heart and the life of the party. She made friends wherever she went and made sure to reach out to all of them regularly. She loved her family more than anything, always thinking of others before herself. The spark that Geraldine had will stay with all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the amazing medical team at Southlake Regional Hospital for the care they have provided over the years and the palliative in-home care team that helped support her last days. At Geraldine’s request there will be no service, but a celebration of life will occur at the Bradford Legion on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 6pm, all are welcome. Geraldine has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Stronach Cancer Centre.
