Obituary of George Evans Jackson
The great figure who embodied attitude, tradition and connectedness George Jackson passed away at home on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 90 years of age. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Kneeshaw) for 65 years. Loving father and father-in-law of Susan and Mark, Catharine and Ken, Janet, Barbara and Norman. Proud grandfather of Andrew, Stephanie and Jacqueline, James, Sean and Nicola, Summer and Rachel. Cherished great grandfather of Isla and John. Dear brother of Elizabeth. Kind uncle to Gregg, John, David, Ron, Brian, Bob and Carolyn.
George loved life immensely, each moment. George was an Alumni of RMC, enjoyed a career as an insurance executive and was active in the United Church. George’s favourite pastimes included spending time with family and friends, playing bridge, watching the Blue Jays and spending time at his cottage at Lac Gagnon.
Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. A private family interment at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Coulson’s Hill, Bradford will be held at a later date.
