One of my best memories with Bill was on one of our annual “Yukon Jack” angling expeditions. I was driving the boat, and Bill was in the front having a little power nap after a strenuous morning of trolling for lakers.
Bills’ line was going directly by me, and being a bit of a prankster I just could not resist giving his line a good hard tug.
To his credit, Bill had set the hook and reeled in about 6 feet of line before his eyes opened - a truly impressive feat.
Deepest sympathy to Joan and family - always remember the good times.

Stephanie and I are very much saddened by the loss of our close friend Bill, and wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Joan and family. Bill and Joan have been an important part of our lives for almost 50 years. Bill loved hunting, golfing and fishing. Fishing with the Yukon Jack Anglers' Club often included fly-in trips to remote locations. For many years the fishing expeditions also included ice fishing adventures on Lake Simcoe.
Many wonderful New Years Eve celebrations were held over the years at the Copeland home with Bill demonstrating his culinary skills and love of cooking as he masterfully prepared the lobsters. What wonderful times we had!
We will never forget the good times!

Bill was a great fishing partner in the Yukon Jack Anglers Club. We fished together for over 30 years in Algonquin Park and other "secret places". We also have many fond memories of spending New Years eve together over many years. Bill was a sportsman, golfer, businessman, veteran and a good friend.
Joan and family, we are sorry for your loss and he will be greatly missed by us all.

It was always a fun time visiting Uncle Bill growing up. I know he enjoyed his time with me as much as I did with him. He taught me the value & impact of what it means to be an Uncle. For that, I’ll always be grateful & your teachings live on. Rest easy Uncle Bill..

Uncle Bill is such a constant in my childhood memories, such as family Christmas parties in their home, time at the cottage and pool parties with extended family in the back yard. I will miss his warm eyes, smile and laugh. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. We will all miss you so very much but your memories and spirit live on in all of us. Xoxo
