Obituary of Emil Maslak
Passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Monday, April 22, 2024.
Beloved eldest son of late Andrew and late Suzanna Maslak. Dear brother of late Irene (late Bill) Scholl, late Helen (Paul) Hawton and late John (Janet) Maslak. Dear cousin of late Paul (Ann) Margetiak. Emil will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.
Emil was smitten by airplanes at a young age; by 1954 at the age of 20, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He received Officer training in London, Ontario followed by ground school and flight training on 'Harvard' aircraft in Claresholm, Alberta. After 'Wings' Graduation, Emil spent time flying various aircraft with his 400 Auxiliary Air Reserve in Downsview, Ontario. Shortly thereafter, in 1956, Emil applied to and was accepted by TransCanada Airlines (later to be Air Canada). Captain Emil Maslak held an illustrious career as a pilot with Air Canada with 38 years of safe and successful service before retiring in 1994. You will not be forgotten FlyBoy!
Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford.
