The Murphy family would like to offer their condolences to Gary's loving family and especially the Lee Family. We have many fond memories growing up with Gary in the Cedarbrae/Nelson Street area. Gary was part of the group of kids that ranged in ages but all came together to play a game of football or hockey or whatever other type of game we could dream up. Our heartfelt sympathies are with you.

Dear Nola and family...our deepest sympathy on your great loss. I have known Gary for 45 years as a member of Maple Downs and have always had the highest regard for him and his ability to handle difficult situations. The transition from mechanic responsible for our 3-wheeler fleet to ultimately handling the starter duties at the 1st tee was always professionally handled. There were no complaints, everything ran smoothly. To me, Irv Lightstone and Gary Lee symbolized Maple Downs. I respected Gary’s professionalism as he transitioned through his various responsibilities at the Club. He could really hit a golf ball and always greeted me with a smile on his face. I will always miss Gary, hard to believe we met as young kids in our twenties...Gary, rest in peace and to Nola and family, my deepest condolences, may you know no more sorrow....Leon & Terry Bleiwas

Dear Nola, Brent, Shannon and family. We are so very very sorry to learn of the passing of Gary. I cannot post a tribute to Gary without speaking of the wonderful memories I have of him, of both of you, that begin sometime in the 70’s, memories from the summers we all spent working at Maple Downs. Gary had a great big smile and an infectious laugh. He never failed to entertain us with his wonderful sense of humour. From over forty years of friendship, I know what a wonderful husband, dad and granddad he was, we cant even begin to imagine how much he will be missed. We hope that all the wonderful memories that you made as a family will bring you peace and comfort in time.
Sending our love, Frances and Maurice, Stephanie, David and family.

Dear Nola and Family, Brother Bob and Sherry,
Arthur and I are both saddened by the untimely passing of your Dear Gary. He was our friend for many years at Maple and there was never a time when I forgot to give him a hug before teeing off on Number one!
Even after leaving the club we were constantly in touch as we would meet every year in Naples for our annual lunch with the six of us. That was always something we looked forward too.
We will miss those lunches and certainly our friendship.
Nola, I know that his love for you will always be in your heart and his memories and love will be cherished forever.
May his dear soul now rest in peace.
Love Art and Beverley

To Gary’s family, we send you our deepest condolences on the passing of your husband, father, grandfather and son. While we didn’t know him well, he certainly made the start of every golf game at Maple Downs something to look forward to. He knew everyone’s name and was always ready to talk about any little thing. Although we are not long time members of MD, we knew Gary long enough to say he will be greatly missed and we won’t be able to pass by the starters hut without thinking of him. May you be comforted by your family and friends and your memories make you smile.

I was so sad to hear of Gary's illness. I had worked with Gary at Maple Downs in the early years where he first met Nola.
I have fond memories of driving members' cars south in November and playing golf around Daytona Beach with Gary and Ken Venning or heading to Kentucky in March to get a jump on the golf season before April rolled around.
Gary remained my touchstone with Maple Downs having invited me to play two summers ago with Gary, Rick Geller and Brian Stepak. Proud of the career that Gary made for himself and the respect that the membership always showed him.
My condolences to Nola and family. He was one of the good guys!

Gary was always the face of Maple Downs. One could not be at the first tee without seeing his smiling face, having a friendly chat and just the right way to start a round of golf.
But Gary was so much more than that, his insight, jokes and stories will be sorely missed.
We know he will always be looking down smiling at his second home.
Our deepest condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.

When I left Maple in 2004, we continued to stay in touch and always enjoyed coming back for the Pro Am every year and catching up. Upon my return in 2013 Gary was the first to call with a congratulations and said "Pro whatever you need, I am here for you". That was Gary, always willing to help, a true mensch!
