I was fortunate to have worked with Joan at the beginning of my time at CIBC. She was a pillar of knowledge, respect and kindness. Her guidance has never been forgotten.
In the past year, I was lucky enough to reconnect with her. I was not surprised that she still held the strong, carrying charater that I remembered, even while battling her illness.
Rest now, Joan.
To Nikki, family and friends, please accept my sincerest condolences.

I had the pleasure of working in CIBC with Joan in HR and International for over 20 years. She was my Mentor. We also became great friends and we would look forward to our annual get togethers at our BBQs that Brian and I hosted in the summers. Joan especially enjoyed the garden. She always brought the best Jamaican Patties. Joan was so brave regarding her ilness. She never complained. Our condolences go our to her wonderful daughter Nikki, Son-In-Law Bruce and their family who took such good care of her always. We will miss our times together but cherish our memories. We know that her Family and her good friend Annette are welcoming you. Rest In Peace. Our Love and Hugs Brian and Debbie Thibideau

Joan and I worked together at CIBC Human Resources for many years and we also retired together. She was a great friend, always happy and upbeat. She never complained even when she was dealing with her illness. I will miss our lunches and coffee dates. My hope is that Joan is with our friend, Annette, in heaven, and that they are both laughing at another funny story.
Our sympathies go to Nikki, Bruce and family. You will miss your Mom and Mimi very much, as we all will. Rest in peace, Joan.

In 2018 I had the privilege of meeting Joan. Joan was one of the kindest ,humble, caring and loving person I ever met.I remember her telling me Mel you are family now. I met Joan while I was taking care of her sister affectionately called "aunt Faye" whom I loved dearly. I am saddened to learn of her passing and am so sorry I didn't get to see her again. My condolence to Nikki, Bruce, Janet, Volney, Lionel and the rest of the family. May you be comforted in this difficult time.God is your refuge and strength a present help in trouble. Love you all. Sleep on Joan and take your rest.

Joan was my dearest friend when I lived and worked in Toronto. I always called her Joannie Girl and whenever I called to speak to her over the last few years I only had to use that name for her to know it was me. She never spoke or wrote to me without asking after Roy whom she also treated as a special friend. Joannie Girl was always so upbeat and happy and had stories about her family and friends which amused her and kept me laughing and informed. I was hoping that she would make her 80th birthday because I sent her an 80th card on her 79th birthday due to a miscommunication and had told her to keep it and bring it out again next year.
Joan had been looking forward to meeting her maker for some time. She had no fear and was expecting an enhanced continuation of her eternal life. Her faith was very strong. I look for the day when we shall meet again and have more happy times. God bless you and keep you Joan.
With much love
Joyce and Roy
