Linda and family;
Please accept our sincere condolences on Kirk’s passing. He was a real inspiration for me. He always had a smile and took time to sit and ask how things were with myself and our family. Kirk and I had many memorable stories in minor hockey and our breakfast meetings always ended in a prayer for good health and world peace. I considered Kirk a true and loyal friend and will miss our breakfast meetings and conversations. Linda, May the many memories that you have help you through this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Peter, Heather, Mathew and Paul Jelley

We are so sorry to hear of Kirk's passing and his physical struggle over the past several months. While he will be greatly missed by all, he will finally find release from his earthly challenges through Jesus in Heaven. Kirk served his Saviour well by showing love to all he met, and helping others tirelessly despite his own physical limitations. At Valleyview Alliance Church, Kirk and Linda would help out with any ministry needing another hand. Kirk spent many late hours at the church welcoming community members as they dropped off their Christmas Shoebox donations for children overseas, and our children enjoyed being with Linda in Sunday School. As our girls handed over their carefully packed donation boxes, Kirk would greet them personally and make them feel as if they were an important part of the Samaritan's Purse ministry. We are thankful to have the privilege of knowing Kirk and your loving family. While you will deeply miss Kirk, we pray that you will find comfort through Jesus and the great memories you share of your husband / father. Knowing Kirk and your family was a great blessing to all of us.

So sorry to hear of Kirk's passing. Having lost my Dad 10 months ago, I know exactly how you all are feeling.
Martin and I played baseball together for Newmarket when we were teenagers. I will always remember Kirk's smiling face at the ballpark, and his ability to crack the right joke at the right time. I remember I was wearing shorts to the diamond one day, and he asked me if a chicken got a hold of my legs!
I don't recall ever seeing him without a smile, so that is how I will always remember him.
Sending love and strength,
Matt Di Lullo, and the entire Di Lullo Family

We first met Kirk in Feb 2004, he was introduced as a volunteer to take our son Nanda to Sick Kids. Since then there was no looking back. Him and Linda slowly became our family in Canada. We remember the numerous trips to Sick Kids with Kirk, he used to patiently wait in the Atrium while we were visiting the specialists. During the rides, we had lots and lots of fun and conversations which we can never forget. He is the one who taught us the North American way of living, Kirk helped us with our transition to the new place and culture. Kirk was a walking Encyclopedia - anything you ask, Kirk would know. There are so many firsts for us in Canada with Kirk. Kirk and Linda took us to the Niagara falls for the first time. Our first trip to the United States was with Kirk. Kirk took us for Fresh Christmas Tree cutting - which we have never seen before. Kirk was with us all the way through when we bought our home - we still remember, he bought a bottle of Champagne and said "Jay, we got the house". He had a special bond with our son Nanda - whom he used to lovingly refer to as - "My Indian Nephew". Nanda and Kirk had lots of conversations and email exchanges about hockey games , which was passion they both shared. He never hesitated to try our Indian food and was very curious and appreciative of our culture. He used to come with us to our Temple for Nanda's star birthday with no hesitation. Kirk never forgot to wish us on our Birthdays, Diwali and speical occassions. Kirk and Linda were the first to email us when my father passed away in India. When my mom was visiting us, Kirk was so kind enough to visit her with a bouquet of flowers. Whenever we met, Kirk use to greet us with folded hand, saying - "Namashkar" - our Indian way of Greeting. Anytime we needed help, Kirk was there for us, he was a big moral support for us. He was/is a God sent angel in our lives. We will miss him dearly!
It was our honour and privilege to have had Kirk in our lives. We love you (Uncle) Kirk and you will live in our hearts forever!
Dear Linda, Martin, Laura, Laura Lynn Gerald and kids, please accept our deepest sympathies. Trust that Kirk is with the Lord.
Chandru, Jayashree & Nanda

Our deepest sympathy to the Kelly family! I remember Kirk's smile and laughter at Valley View Alliance Church and how we always called him "the walking miracle"! He gave us so much hope and inspiration! His attitude was always "I'm gonna keep on goin' 'til the Lord calls me home"!
You are now home Kirk! You will not be forgotten!

A GREAT friend for 52 1/2 years. We met day 1 of grade 9 at Danforth Tech and the rest is history. Too many stories to tell and even more memories from fishing to cottaging to just hanging out.
To Linda, Martin, Laura-Lynn and their families take comfort knowing he was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

I first met Kirk “ Coach Kelly “ while coaching in NMHA .He was my coach mentor helping me be a better coach for the kids.
We formed a great friendship and was a great role model who I looked up to throughout my life .
When he moved to Mt.Albert he continued to be involved with NMHA and I ended up moving to Mt Albert myself. We stayed in touch and he still continued to be a mentor to me while coaching in the EGMHA .
I could always count on a helping hand or just a good chat with Kirk to clear my head .
He was a great listener and would always take time out of his busy day to support me .
So many times I asked Kirk to come to the rink to give my team a pre- game talk ,he was a master at this and my teams always asked when he was coming back to give another pre-game talk .
He also gave post game talks after sub par performances which the players got the “ Coach Kelly “ why you play the game speech
Kirk was one of a kind ,Always imitated but never duplicated !
I was honoured to call him my friend and he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege to meet him.
Linda and family my heartfelt condolences to all of you in these difficult times.
Reiner and family

Kirk and Linda's son Marty worked with my brother and I in Muskoka for 7 years. I have many fond memoires of Kirk and Linda appearing out of the blue to visit Marty at work. On sunny days I'd hear, then see this low rumbling, slow moving touring bike cruising through the parking lot - Linda on the back with her arms around Kirk, and Kirk with his large persistent smile. Whether or not Marty was available, Kirk was always interested in what we were doing, how the business was going and of course he always had time for a beer. The bond that is shared between Kirk and Marty is a wonderful and rare thing. I now have two sons of my own and I would be overwhelming delighted if my relationship with my sons was as strong the one shared by Marty and Kirk. They always had a great time when they were together, and the love for one another was ever present and obvious.
My children play competitive hockey in Barrie and I am a coach. A couple of years ago I was in Newmarket for a game and Kirk took the time to track down my game and came to watch. We had a terrific time catching up and conversation always came easy and flowed like a river when you were speaking with Kirk. I was very sorry to hear about his passing. My heart goes out to you Linda, Laura and Marty. Kirk was a great guy and I know how much he will be missed by you all.
