Obituary of Bill Greer
Our world has been forever changed with the loss of our husband, father and Papa, Bill Greer, on May 5, 2021 after a five year heroic journey with cancer. One day at a time, he fought on, but a cure was not to be. Today, we can be sad that we lost the battle but we are grateful for the five years that Bill had, to witness our children’s accomplishments and watch with pride as they became wonderful parents and to rejoice as each of our grandchildren arrived and as we watched the older ones blossom into accomplished young people.
Bill left this world a better place because he used the gifts God gave him. With his architectural design and technical background, he had the know-how to fix, repair or build anything and a keen eye for how things should be done correctly and look their best. Another gift was his ability to connect with others and to maintain his loyalty to his many, many friends who have been there every step of the way. His relationship with his family was so profound that he was never left alone during his lengthy stay in care.
He was as good a man as God ever created.
Bill’s parents, Raymond & Florence Greer predeceased him. Bill is survived by his wife, Jayne, his daughters and their families: Jennifer (Craig Jeffries) Colton & Carter; Katie (Herbert Godinez) Sebastian, Elliott, Wesley & Hudson; Sarah (Scott Perfonic) Easton & Emery.
Also loved by his sisters, their husbands and children: Mary (Don); Barbara (Olavi); Patricia (John); Sister Alice CSJ; and his brothers and their wives and children: Don (Moira), Kelly (Marcela); Tom (predeceased). Truly saddened is his mother-in-law, Louise Leclaire, as well as his sisters-in-law, Anne Cordes & Joan (Jim) Blow and their children.
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.” For us, that is Bill, our forever radiant beacon of light.
There will be a private family service on May 17, 2021 at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be forwarded in Bill’s name to Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket, Ontario at this link https//www.myhospice.ca/support-my-hospice/ in honour of their wonderful care.
