It was a short but happy memory with Cathy. She is always been a good listener, a woman with sense of humour, good and kind heart. I lost my mom 2 years ago, and I treat every woman I work with and take care as my own mom. I was so sad when I heard the news about the passing of Cathy. But I’m sure your happy, no more pain and suffering. Thank you for the wonderful memories we had at Cobblestone Lodge.

Vividly remember so many weekends at Trench when we were kids. As Nana would say "dear little Cathy" was always there to join in with Anne and I.

Mike, Tim and families,
So very sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Cathy. She was always so gracious and kind. I remember one time Aunt Cathy and Uncle Bill visited Newfoundland she made me lemon meringue pies as she knew it was my favourite. So thoughtful of her and no small feat when I look back with two small boys around! Take care and treasure those wonderful memories you have of your Mom. Love and hugs, Barb, Craig, Kimberley and Kelly

My sincere condolences on the passing of your loved one. Cathy loved each one of you dearly and you will miss her deeply. She was my sister-in-law but more importantly, she was my friend. We enjoyed many conversations and laughs over a cup of tea and sometimes a "spritzer:! Her heart was broken when she lost Bill, they had a special love for each other and for their family.
May your beautiful memories sustain you at this difficult time - she is at peace. Sincerely, Aunt Mary.

I met Cathy on the EIS Markham team, she was a wonderful woman with a kind word for everyone. Not only did she have a smile for every staff she was the same with all of the parents and children that came through the door. Cathy knew everyone's name and everyone knew Cathy. Condolences to her family.

I am missing Cathy already. She has been a steadfast friend through many of life's ups and downs. Her sense of humour was contagious, and was the mirror image of Bill's.
Cathy loved the simple things of life: a game of Scrabble, enjoying the backyard bird feeder at their Mount Albert home, with the cardinals and juncos against the snow; making tea using her bone china teapot and cups and saucers; going to quilt shows to admire the needlework; reading a good book on quiet weekend evenings.
She and Bill opened their home to those in need, once to a young woman who was living at the woman's shelter. She lived with them for almost a year. Another time a bedroom was lent to a young woman on her own for the first time. Cathy displayed her love of God in her life each day. She has left a wonderful legacy for her sons and their families.

Cathy was a kind & gentle person. She loved art, music & culture. I enjoyed to have lunch with her at Uncle Joe, a short walk from Markham, 144 Main St office. We used to stroll the tiny stores & window shopping of the creative ointments. Cathy was a great baker and i will miss her carrot cake. .
Cathy was very committed in her work. She was so proud to work for York Region. It was liked a family working with her and the team.
My prayers are with her & her family. She is now in heaven and preparing carrot cakes for the Saints! Joyce
The attached photo was taken in 2005. Cathy worked for Markham Early Intervention Services. She was in the middle. You can find her with a great smile.

Cathy was a mentor, colleague and dear friend. We shared many happy times and were always there for each other during tough times and challenges. I will never forget Cathy's smile and her kindness. She showed me the ropes when I started working at York Region and we remained not just colleagues but dear friends. Cathy had a heart of gold and was always so giving and always willing to help and offer support. She took pride in her work and family. Her children and grandkids were her world. Cathy was one of the most caring, kind and loveable women I met and I'm so blessed that she was in my life. Sending prayers and hugs to Cathy's family. She will be missed but never forgotten.
