We are saddened to hear of the passing of a long time neighbour Richard Glista. A fond memory of Richard driving down the road with his Oldsmobile and you could always count on the honk and wave as he smiled driving by especially when the girls were outside playing.
Our sincere condolences to you Nikki and Evelyn during this very difficult time.

Our hearts are shattered with the news of our dear friend Richard. He was a unqiue person, the kind we wish there were more people like him. So kind, thoughtful, extremely witty and fun to be with. We met Richard at the OCC Nationals in Fanshawe park in London when he asked us if we needed a radio. The very next week we saw him at The Wheels of Bradford and our friendship grew from there. From car shows, cruises, road trips and parties. Including birthday parties for the cars and always had to have pie. We love Richard and will forever miss him.

We are so sorry to hear about Richard. Both Gord & I went to school with him....Gord at BDHS and Richard & I went back to SS#4 public school. Then I went on to have Nikki in one of my classes at School. Always smiling, we will miss him. Gord would come home as they often met at the Post Office where they would have a chat and a laugh. Cherish the memories....he was special.

Richard was like a brother to me and my brother, William Sabo. During Bill and Richard’s high school years, he would often come with Bill, to our house, have a shower, eat supper and off the two would go! David Scotto was also another brother’ in our family. The three amigos spent a lot of time together in their teen years, sometimes letting the little ‘sister’ (me)tag along. I remember Richard’s love of cars and cheerful disposition. My deepest condolences to Evelyn and her family. May his memory be a blessing to us all.
Miriam (Sabo) Woodall (now residing in Windsor).

Doris and I met Richard, at the Wheels of Bradford car shows back in 86, as he was a truck driver at the time, we seemed to take a liking to each other. I remember his quick come back to any question, and his cense of humor.
While on some road trips with the club, Richard was always there to help, like when Doris dropped the gas tank out of the Bonneville. Richard and Bob Simpson thru it in the trunk and hooked up the line and we continued on. Another trip and Richard was blowing in the gas cap of Bob's car to get the fuel to move, and we were able to continue on. Richard new quite a lot about how to fix any problem.
Doris and I were always happy to see Richard and Evelyn.
He will be missed.
R.I.P. Richard, I know you are helping people in Heaven. Jim and Doris Thew

Richard you were the kindest friendliest person I knew
Your love of your family and your Oldsmobiles was unmatched
We first met in the summer of 83 and quickly became friends
Through our love for the big old Rockets
Richard was a walking encyclopedia when it came to 68 442 and Cutlas models
Often when I spoke with other people about their Oldsmobile needs whether looking for parts or information I would say call Richard Glista they’d say Richard Oldsmobile?
Buddy you are certainly going to be missed
Our deepest condolences to Evelyn and Niki I know he was your hero
Rest In Peace my dear friend

I met Richard @ The Wheels of Bradford Car Cruise back in 1988, @ the Husky, those were the "Days". We found an Interest in so many things together as Friends and our Wive's were to be best of friend's too. Our Wives were often inseparable and were found often to wear the matching clothes like Sisters would!! We enjoyed MANY,and MANY a meal together, enjoyed the real meaning of Car Cruising, with going on weekend Cruises with our Older Cars. We went on Holiday's together, Collector Car Auctions, Automotive Flea Markets and so much more.... Richards wealth of Automobile knowledge will certainly be missed by so many of His Friends.
I also worked at the same Trucking Company as Richard too, and many a night when Richard would walk into The Transport Co's. Dispatch area, the Room would light up with Richard's Smile and often with his Quirky Comments that would leave so many People with No Clue as to what Richard was really talking about, as His double talk was his "Specialty"... His "Art" of confusion was Magical.... I'm going to miss this "Larger" than life Gentleman who was so well liked and loved throughout His many footsteps in Life.
My sincerest Condolences to Richard's Pillar of Life "Evelyn" and His Daughter "Nik"... May Richard R.I.P.

Dear Evelyn, Nikki & Family,
I knew Richard for approx the past 30 years. He was a "gentle giant" with a warm smile and wonderful demeanor. He was a welcoming person with an immense knowledge set of all things Oldsmobile. Just when you thought you knew a thing or two about Oldsmobiles- Richard had more to offer! I loved his old fashioned "coke & a joke" mentality that would slowly draw anyone in. His smile was worth a million dollars and he always treated me fairly when we bought and sold parts. His stories were interesting and I'd lose track of time whenever I visited your place surrounded by the relics of the past- each of them having their own unique history. We shared a common bond in a trademark that was once great & prestigious. His cars (and truck) were always part of his pride and joy and he loved detailing the "thrill of the hunt" behind each one of them with me. I enjoyed hearing the stories and the "unique Richard spin" as we cajoled each other laughing all the while. Great guy- will miss him- RIP Richard! Brad A.
