Turk was a close friend of my family whom I have known since the days when I was a young kid. I have many fond memories of him going back all those years. He was the most dynamic, outgoing person I've ever known, and always great fun to be with. I extend my condolences to Annabelle, Matt, Luke and the rest of the family. I am sorry for their loss. I know that Turk enriched the lives of almost all who knew him and will be greatly missed!

I was one of a small and close group of friends Roy made at law school. Even though we only saw each other sporadically over the years, we could always count on our reunions being full of laughs and littered with shameless embellishments. Roy will be so deeply missed by his family and countless friends. May the memories of all of the good times endure forever in the hearts of all of us who knew and loved him.

I am so sorry to hear about Roy's passing. I only knew him from a professional standpoint - but he was clearly a fun loving individual who was always a pleasure to deal with. He never took himself seriously but at the same time was very professional in his approach to his client work. The legal community will collectively mourn his passing. Please accept my condolences for the family - it is not easy to lose someone of Roy's stature.

Dear Annabel, Matt, Kiki and family, Luke, Lori and children,
Our hearts are truly heavy as we miss the presence of Roy in our lives. However, we will continue to remember with profound fondness all the great times we had with Roy and Ann and family. As next door neighbours on Mason Ave. in Bradford for some years, we had a wonderful "open door policy" for coffee klatches, swimming in our pool, lunches and dinners. We also enjoyed many get-togethers at the homes of friends, at the Gordon's homes in Bradford, at cottages, at the weddings of our children, at golf games, at our home in Barrie and then in Niagara-on-the-Lake where we had moved lately for seven years. Never a dull moment in their company ~ lots of giggles, conversation and genuinely good times. We will always keep those precious memories in our thoughts and hearts. Roy was kind, generous, funny, and so outgoing ~ a good mayor, a helpful lawyer, a loving family man, a super friend and a great supporter of his adopted town of Bradford.
Always loved,
Gord ("Gordie"), Iris, Shannon and Thom ("little Tommy" even when he was 6'4"!!) Marriott (Nicknames by Roy in brackets)

Turk Gordon was my friend for 70 years . Our families enjoyed vacations and visits and shared many joyous as well as sad times . Of course I recall so many of Turk's hilarious and outrageous moments- his unique brand of humour was a joy to experience. One evening about 40 years ago up near Collingwood we were approaching a house party- suddenly Turk stopped and turned to me with a huge "Gordon Grin" on his face and declared joyously - "Demps- these people have never met me before"! Then he proceeded to entertain these new friends throughout the evening. I hold most dear his loyalty and caring as a friend- the tougher the situation ,the more Turk was there to help. I cherish the many opportunities I and my family had to know and experience this special man - I shall never forget him. Our thoughts are with you- Annabelle, Matt, Luke Lori, Shirley and the grandkids. Love- The Dempsey family- Jerry, Barb, Pam, Ben and Bridget.

When our paths crossed several times in our Bradford days, you knew Roy Gordon was a man you would never forget. Later on we had the pleasure of getting together with Roy, Ann and friends for some dinner parties, the odd golf game and an amazing trip that included Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Italy. But one of our favourite moments was at a dinner in the Collingwood area where Roy decided to break out of his shell (LOL!!) and serenade us with a rendition of Lucky Lindy. As you can imagine, it brought a smile to all our faces, including Ann, who had probably heard that rendition a hundred times, but loved it just the same. You will always have a place in our hearts Roy Gordon.

Ann, I am deeply saddened to learn of Roy’s death. Ann Morin texted me this a.m.
My memories of Roy go back to high school in London. Everybody loved him—he was hilarious always, and his humour was never the put down type, unless it was himself being knocked. For awhile he was nicknamed Turk Capone, but I never learned why.
He was SO supportive of his wonderful Mud, and I can imagine her death years ago hit him hard .
Roy brightened every gathering, and in those years he didn’t indicate there was brilliance behind the mischief. On he went, in his own time, to finish high school, then university, then a law degree, then married his love—his hottie—and along came Matt. Then I understand he came to be the mayor of Bradford. I’ll bet the council meetings were a delight with Roy at the helm
I want you and the family to know that the world of people who knew and loved him goes even further than your kids imagine. Waves of us over the years.
I’m thinking of you and your grief, and I’ll know that the support of your kids will mean so much at this time.
Much love to you
Peggy Richardson (your little sister at Spencer)

My sincere condolences to Ann and the Gordon family on the passing of a great man.
I got to know Roy when he would attend the old RBC building, where I worked for many years. He would come in with a big smile on his face and a joke to share; he made me laugh every time. The last time we spoke, he announced his retirement. I was sad to hear the news, but we laughed and joked about getting older.
Roy will be truly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him.
Sincerely,

Dear Gordon clan
What a loss. Knowing Roy - and, through him, all of you - has so enriched our lives. Office parties, travel adventures, theatre excursions, fabulous dinners (often overpriced and mysteriously covered by Roy before the bill arrived) … the list of fun times we have had with Roy and Ann goes on and on.
The memories are endless. But I think one of my favourites was a day, decades ago, when we were travelling with Roy and Ann in the States and Roy came grocery shopping with Kevin and me (probably to make sure we didn’t buy cheap wine or forget the scotch). We made our way through the store, with Roy loudly greeting every random shopper, then unloading our groceries at the checkout and greeting the cashier with a “How ya doin’ today, Darlin’?”. She was a bit shy and taken aback, so I tried to save her by quietly whispering, “You can’t call women Darlin!” but, as he loved to embarrass me in public (I know you kids can relate), this only made him louder and more gregarious. Reading the cashier’s name tag(“Rita”?), he announced “Rita, doesn’t mind! She’s a great little chick, aren’t ya Darlin?”. Suffice to say, by the time we left that grocery store, he had everyone, including Rita, smiling and the kid that packed our groceries into the car had pocketed the biggest tip of his life.
Why is this my favourite? Because it was pure Roy. Just an ordinary day. But a simple trip to the grocery store became an adventure. And, every day of his life, he made so many people smile. What a wonderful way to spend your life, he’s an example to us all.
We will miss him but are so happy we had him as part of our lives.
Sending you hugs.
Ramona and Kevin

Our sincere condolences on the passing of Roy. There were numerous connections between our family and the Bigman over the years. First as "landlords" when my parents rented our house to the Gordon family while we were in New Brunswick for 3 years in the early 70's. He became our family's lawyer upon our return to Bradford, a relationship that lasted until Roy closing down his practice a few year's back.
I will always remember a high school ski trip to Vermont with Roy as a chaperone. On the trip he bestowed a nickname on me (Fingers) which he used whenever we met for the past 40+ years.
Cindy worked for Roy back in the early 90's gaining a nick name of course (Cinbad) and a friendship that remained for these many years later.
Turk was a one of a kind and we are truly blessed to have had him in our lives for so many years.
Cheers, Dave and Cindy Kemp

Dear Ann and family.
So sorry to hear of Roy's passing.
I think I met Roy at a party shortly after having my kidney out.
It was out on the 4th line T Leighton and Sandy's place..
Tender from major surgery he had al laughing the night away with his jokes and banter.
Made me forget my illness.
We had many years of friendship and being away from Bradford for so long it was nice to
reconnect at the Elden while visiting Mom.
Still able to crack the joke even then.
It was a pleasure to have met Roy and being a friend to both Ann, Roy and children.
Mourn not too long that he is gone but REJOICE forever that he was.
